RoboScout's Top Fantasy Prospects: A Deep Dive into the Minors
In the world of baseball, the minor leagues are a treasure trove of talent, and RoboScout is here to guide us through the latest rankings and insights. This week, we're diving into the top prospects at every level, from the complex leagues to Triple-A, and uncovering the stories behind their performances.
Complex Leagues
While it's still early in the season, RoboScout has already identified some standout performers. The Brewers have a pair of hitters near the top of the rankings in middle infielder CJ Hughes and outfielder Alexander Frias. Hughes has a home run and three stolen bases, while Frias has added two home runs and three steals of his own. The 2025 Dominican signee was already intriguing after posting a 104 mph 90th percentile exit velocity in the DSL last year. More encouragingly, his contact rate has improved from 73% to 77% in his small-sample stateside debut. If the hit tool continues to progress, Frias has the upside of a 25-to-30 home run bat.
Giants shortstop Luis Hernandez has three home runs and is showing why he was the most highly prized signee in January. Several Pirates hitters are also off to excellent starts, including infielder Johan De Los Santos, infielder Darell Morel, and third baseman Hyun Seung Lee.
On the pitching side, the early standouts include Cubs righthander Kaleb Wing, Rangers righthander Jacob Johnson, Angels righthander Mikey Cascino, and Reds righthander Irvin Gonzalez.
